After what has seem like a day of hell over here (which included server issues, unsolvable code, and way to many phone calls), I was putting some finishing touches on a site while watching the World Series of Poker on ESPN2. A commercial for PokerStars came on feature Mr. Daniel Negreanu (a poker pro).
I don’t normally watch these commercials intently, but something caught my attention out of the corner of my eye… So I went and confirmed I wasn’t seeing things… Sure enough, there is something rather large on Daniel’s finger in a 1 second shot of him playing poker.
The question is what is it? I’ve included a picture below:
I have 2 guesses as to what it could be.
1) Something measuring his pulse. I don’t know what kind of software exists for comparing your pulse against your poker playing, but non the less, intriguing.
2) Some sort of authentication device to allow him to get special access to pokerstars/whatnot.
If you know what it is… I would love to learn (it looks like something I should have ;-)).

I don't know how to do links, so I will instead break your page and claim victory over this post.
If that's what it is… I think I want one.
That's weird. I'd have guessed a pulseox device though.
Daniel is wearing a PowerBall Mouse. This is an off-table, hand-held trackball mouse. While ideal for online gaming and traveling, this mouse is also wonderful for people with carpal tunnel syndrone, elbow problems from radial-ulna nerve pinch, or back problems. The PowerBall Mouse allows players to sit back from screen and desktop while relaxing in a more comfortable position… especially for a 5-hour tournament. When ordering from Post This!
