Sore fingers and a good day

I purchased Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii online, and it arrived early this morning. I did my best not to take it out of the box prior to finishing all my work for the day, because I knew once I started, I would be on an unlock quest. Amber came over played Zelda DS while I worked away at unlocking everything for about 3 hours… I still have a long way to go. I’m rather impressed with the gameplay and I’m just happy to say it’s finally on the Wii. I’m glad all the games are making their way… Plus….

It was announced today that Smash Bros. will have a stage builder… I know the game being delayed sucks, but at the rate they are adding features, it’s hard to complain… By the time they launch, they’ll have 50+ characters, stage and character builders, and a whole new game mode (that I haven’t even imagined). Who knows, but their blog at http://www.smashbros.com/ is fun to read.

In other news, another item came in the mail today that I ordered last week. My first –unedited– somewhat published book. It’s basically the first 1000 posts from Rinsefirst/JJ’s Domain in print. I have to admit, I’ve very impressed with the quality, and I must admit that I am just LOVING randomly flipping pages to find posts that I remember writing, but don’t ever get to see because of the way the blog is formatted here… There is something to be said for having it in print. See the pics below. For now, that’s everything.

Any stats on the book? How many pages? How many words? How thick? How many posts?

I'm not sure if I will ever release the book to the public because there would need to be a lot of editting done, but the stats are like this:

    1) Posts – the first 1000 (meaning roughtly 250 got cut).

    2) Pages – 658 after removing roughly 200 pages of junk, like one post that contained the entire asm dump of the UMN bomb, another page contained the Alex's Treemapper output of my hard drive… that sort of thing. It's at size 10 font, and it's a 6×9 book (so larger than your normal paperback)

    3) According to Word: 327,093 words (after the edit made above), 7,151 paragraphs, 26,232 lines.

    4) It's not quite 1.5" thick… which is roughly the same as my NKJV bible over here.

If I remember correctly, I still have my copy of Alex's Treemapper. Great program.

    Quantos Pesos?

with shipping I think it was like $22.00 for my 658 page book… Less pages had it as low as like $10 for single run stuff I thought.

Wow jjdb. I click the link in your quit message in IRC, and find out you've written a book!

Because most of the conversation is Tetris-related, it's strange to think how little we ever talk about ourselves.

How would I go about purchasing the book?

  • Justin Gehring October 31, 2007, 6:10 am

At the moment you can't… I'm not entirely sure I'm going to release it for sale either… But heck, everything in it is on this blog… Go figure..

Is there really this much demand for a book written by little ole' me?

  • Adam October 31, 2007, 7:59 am

I'd buy the book and create a demand for it, but that's just because I'm an odd child…
