I’ve been reading some manuals on Direct Access today… very interesting stuff…
It’s basically the first “good” client-server model I’ve seen where the client doesn’t have to VPN to the “office” first.. instead, as soon as their is an internet connection, the remote client simply connects in (securely). I’m sure there are still some hiccups to workout, and this might reduce the overall security of your server if not implement correctly… but it could solve one of the more common headaches we’ve had at MSA with laptops going off-site.
