Well I said it was coming. I said it would be.
Now here it is, for all to see!
That’s right, JJ’s Domain is now RinseFirst (rinsefirst) (RiNsEfIrSt). You can find it at it’s new url of choice http://www.rinsefirst.com/
The site is made yet again on the same backbone that it was on before the switch. It’s design is entirely CSS. It validates with the wonderful W3 standards for both XHTML and CSS valid.
A special thanks to Alex of tumbledry. He helped me fix a lot of bugs and gave me tons of design advice. If it wasn’t for him, I never would have thought to change the name of the site, get a new domain name, consider using my digital camera to get textures and headers, or just about any other cool design idea that seems like I may have had but really came from him. I must say though, it was a lot of work to make this switch, and I probably would have given up if it wasn’t for the support from him.
So, besides promoting the new site, I would like to hear what you think. Please email me at the address below and tell me what you think! See a problem? Let me know. Feel it’s stupid and you have a css file that would look so much cooler on my site? Send it to me. Think the design is cool, but you want all the older content back? Email me! Can you tell I love Email? I also like IM’s, but relize that I also use AIM for work, so at times, I won’t respond or be able to talk long.
Onto some other things.
I was talking to Blaine, one of my co-workers. We were discussing possibly merging our content management systems. From what I can tell, his is by far and away farther along than mine, and is based on XML. From my perspective that rocks. Blaine, like me runs many many sites. I happened to surf across one of them while talking to him and ran into an ASCII art picture of him. I was like, hell that’s cool. So I asked him about it, he pointed me to another program which after googling I found here. Needless to say, it caused me after 750 posts to bring a photo back from the original JJs Domain. If you didn’t catch it, the redesign of JJ’s domain happened on it’s 750th post. With only 250 left until 1000 posts, I think that that’s pretty cool. For those of you who are wondering, this is the 3rd content management system we’ve used. It’s the 5th design, although 1 of those 5 never made it to light of day. It also currently holds the record on JR Corps for most updates. Maybe if I get bored one of these days, I’ll CSS the old school design. Wouldn’t that be nifty?
