My Kind of Band

I’m not big on posting media posts, but this is one of those where I felt I just had to share. Enjoy.

I have Sirius Satelite radio in my new car. One of it’s many stations that I listen to way to often is channel 36, which is a dance style music station that constantly plays remixed versions of other popular songs. It’s kind of like the KDWB party zone that occurs on Friday and Saturday nights, but ALL the time.
1234
One of the cooler features though is the fact that Artist and Title almost always show up while the song is playing. So the other day when the music for the Apple TV Commercial that I’ve been seeing for the Ipod Fatty came on, I took note of the artist. Her/their name is Feist, and up until the song from the commercial came on the air, I have never been able to figure out the name (nor had I looked very hard).
Tell me that you love more
Almost immediantly after getting home, I went looking for it on Itunes here:
Change in your heart
Then, yesterday, I heard a version of it I liked better on channel 36. I of course went to find it on Itunes, and failed… Horribly. I then resorted to google, and found out that this song is “publicly” available (I don’t know if it is supposed to be). In any case, I managed to find it over at http://hypem.com/artist/feist (along with some other good music)
It’s for the teenage boys.
There are a good number of reviews out there that you can check out if you want to read about it before just listening to it yourself. Gotta love all the advertising they are getting by being part of an Apple commercial.

It’s good to have a remixed song to code to again (it’s been awhile since I found something that I strangely liked)

I listen to all sorts of music. However, I don’t actively seek out country music most of the time.
So, a few weeks ago, one of my cousins was in town and started talking about this artist named “Brad Paisley” and a song he had out called “Ticks”. It was a country song that had a twist of humor to it, because it’s chorus’s tag line was “and I’d like to check you for ticks”. You can imagine the embarrassed look on my moms face as she was blaring this song for the first time in a van full of people (she turns red).
Well, a few days after that, my sister came downstairs and had to show me another song by Mr. Paisley. This one was titled “Online”. The key was that she had to show it to me… (Not listen). She claimed it was the greatest music video ever.
I’m not sure I agree with her because I still laugh every time I head to youtube and pull up “White and Nerdy”. But this one comes close, for the following reasons:
- William Shatner is in it (and has lines about women)
- Other famous (although not imporant to me actors) are in it
- The reference to “My space” (albeit, not that cool of a site)
- Because, I truly am cooler online.
- The “I like to check you for ticks” is in the video.
- “I can’t sing?”
- “Beam me up”
I strongly recommend you check out the video here.
I then recommend you come back, leave a comment, make sure you vote in the poll below, and then download it from itunes here:
Enjoy!
